The Triton

Subphotique

The Triton Subphotique is the modern incarnation of the Triton Spirotechnique: the brand’s iconic model, designed by Colonel Jean René Parmentier in 1963. It is tested to a depth of 500 meters, well below the oceanic photic zone where light disappears (200 meters); hence the name “Subphotique”.

Both elegant and robust

Case

The Subphotique case is designed to withstand a depth of 500 meters. It is rigorously tested against air and water. With its prominent angles, the Subphotique asserts its strong presence and is unmistakably a watch for today. An elegant, robust design.

Helium valve

The Triton Subphotique is equipped with a helium escape valve at 3 o’clock, enabling it to withstand steps in decompression chambers down to 500 meters.

Crown and crown guard

The position of the crown at 12 o’clock and its articulated crown guard are the DNA of the Triton brand. These 2 iconic features immediately differentiate Triton watches from all other diver’s watches. A unique design since 1963.

Calibre

The Subphotique is equipped with a customized Triton mechanical calibre based on a Soprod M100 movement with rotor and bridge engraved with Côtes de Genève. This calibre, 100% Swiss Made with 28,800 beats per hour and 42 hours of power reserve, features automatic bi-directional winding.

Calibre with hours, minutes and seconds functions.
Instant date change with quick change facility.
Stop second (hacking) for precise time setting.

Dial
& Bezel

The Subphotique’s dial offers optimal legibility of the hands and date display. The creation of dials is a real art, requiring a great deal of manual skill. The “Super Luminova” luminescent material is applied by hand.

The Triton Subphotique features a bezel with sapphire crystal ring for optimum strength. The graduations on this bezel feature a “Super Luminova” finish for maximum legibility.

Unidirectional notched bezel, 60 clicks (complies with 60-minute diving standards).

Date display

The ‘roulette’ date disc on the Triton Subphotique features red odd and black even numerals, a feature already present on early models from the 1960s. A feature retained on the Subphotique, and an integral part of the DNA of Triton watches.
