Triton never dies...

Since its birth in 1963 and then its resurrection in 2016 with the Triton Subphotique, a new duo of enthusiasts is continuing the Triton watch saga. Collectors’ watches specialist Romain Réa joined Jean-Sébastien Coste in 2023 for the brand’s sixtieth anniversary and the launch of a new Triton Spirotechnique.

The Triton brand has always been exclusive. It was developed in 1963 by Jean-René Parmentier (1921/1998) as a tool for the Spirotechnique company, founded in 1946 by the famous Jacques-Yves Cousteau. The Triton was the most expensive dive watch of the 1960s. With its distinctive crown and crown guard at 12 o’clock, the Triton was instantly recognizable.

This highly technical watch, distributed exclusively in Spirotechnique stores, was intended for professional and military divers, and was found on the wrists of several members of the Cousteau team as well as French and American combat divers.

The now famousTriton Spirotechnique was born at a time when major brands were appreciated for their originality and specific features; Colonel Parmentier’s iconic design embodied this spirit.

Today, we continue to develop Triton watches with scrupulous attention to the unique DNA of this iconic brand, and we are committed to producing no more than 500 watches a year, in order to guarantee the brand’s exclusivity.”
